Wharram Pahi 31

This craft, a modified version of James Wharram’s Pahi 31 design, is viewable on
the hard in the SE corner at Clark’s Marina (just west of Gananoque).

The boat is fibre-glass over plywood. I sheathed the entire length of the
bottoms of both hulls with 2 extra layers of glass and replaced the original fir
laminate bow and stern crossbeams with rectangular section hollow aluminum
beams. I also much strengthened the way the chainplates are set in the coachhouse.
She passed a marine inspection several springs ago, but would need a new one
before being insurable. A few years ago I replaced the original motor (outboard)
with a new Mercury Bigfoot 9.9 horse.

The Merc’ cost me $5000 and has very
little mileage so far. I would like to recoup that expense and a bit more, but price is
flexible. I paid $20,000 a dozen years ago. The last survey said she could be valued
as high as $30,000!
