Racing at TMCC
The racing season at TMCC runs from mid June to mid September. For detailed information contact our racing chair, David Slater.
We run several different types of events, but it is fair to say that they are generally pretty casual affairs.
First, we have wednesday night club racing from June through mid September. These races are white sail, boat-for-boat events (no handicaps) with a fairly mixed bag of 6-8 boats most nights. Start is approx. 6pm.
This year, the TMCC Annual Regatta will held July 18-20 and includes Cruising (white sail), Racing (open), and, when we have the numbers, Beach Cat divisions. There will be 2 days of racing (Sat. and Sun.) with 3 races/day. It's a great tradition, with Friday night wine and cheese, Saturday dinner/dance with live entertainment and Sunday night awards dinner. Ask anyone. It's a blast!
On July 25, the friday following our Regatta, TMCC plays host to the 4th Annual Route du Rum & Coke, a feeder race for the Youngstown Level Regatta held in Youngstown N.Y. (July 26, 27). This is a very special TMCC event as we welcome monohull fleets as well!
We are pleased to announce that both the Route du Rum & Coke and our annual Regatta are sponsored by the wonderful folks at Mount Gay Rum. Thank you!
This year we also plan to resurrect our long distance race, the 4 Sisters Fall Classic. It's a 25 mile race from the club to Port Credit and back. A great way to finish off the racing season.
