Route du Rum & Coke 2008
Welcomes Multihull & Monohull fleets!

Sponsored by Mount Gay Rum

Notice of Regatta

The Toronto Multihull Cruising Club and Mount Gay Rum are pleased to host the 4th Annual Route du Rum and Coke. This years event will be expanded to include both Offshore Multihull and Monohull Fleets.

The Route du Rum and Coke is sure to become a permanent enhancement to the already successful Youngstown Level Regatta and a popular way for the Toronto area fleets to make their way across Lake Ontario. If you're heading for the Youngstown event, why not join in and get some great Mount Gay gear, not to mention prizes that will come in handy in Youngstown!

Last year's event was a great success, with first place going to Tom Reese of Youngstown, N.Y. in his Corsair F28R - Flight Simulator.

The race will run from Toronto, Ontario to Youngstown New York, on Friday July 25, 2008, prior to the start of the Youngstown Level Regatta (July 26, 27). Multihull fleets have been established in the Youngstown Level Regatta and the LYRA event following.

The Route du Rum and Coke will be run in Pursuit format. Start location, sequence and final race instructions will be established based on participation and made available Wednesday July 23rd at the Toronto Multihull Cruising Club, from 1900-2100.

The club is located on Toronto's outer harbour. (16 Regatta Road, 416-461-0028)

Multihulls of all kinds are also invited to attend the TMCC Regatta July 18-20, 2008. Races will be run in 3 divisions; Racing, Cruising and Beach Cat. After the regatta, arrangements can be made (on a first come, first served basis) to leave your boat on a guest mooring or on a trailer in our yard, free of charge, until the start of the Route du Rum and Coke the following week.
