When the TMCC was founded in 1971, the port lands of Toronto were little more than a pile of concrete rubble and landfill. Today, more than 40 years later, we are part of a small community of sailing clubs, nestled within a large park on the edge of Toronto's outer harbour. Our facilities are modest but comfortable.

Wet Moorings

The club has approximately 35 moorings and 250’ of floating docks. Each mooring is alocated a space to store a small rowing dinghy. 2 floating docks adjoin the dinghy storage area.

We have 55 feet of seawall with a small mast crane.

Dry Sailing

The club can accommodate approximately 15 dry-sail boats. (max. 350 sqft.)

We have an 18’ wide floating ramp for rigging beach cats and a concrete and steel launch ramp with 80’ of floating dock. (NOTE: the launch ramp is suitable for small boats and trailers only! Contact the the Docks and Moorings chair for details)

Sail storage for dry-sailed boats is available in the club’s storage shed.

The Clubhouse

Our clubhouse is a 36x40 wooden building with a large covered porch, just steps from the lake. It contains a kitchen and lounge area. The kitchen has a stovetop, oven, microwave, refrigerator and chest freezer. It is available for use by members and their guests. It is the centre for all club social events, summer and winter.

NOTE: As there are no city services in this area, all water is pumped from the lake. Although it is filtered, it is not safe for drinking. Club members bring their own water.

We have a separate washroom building with 2 washrooms and a separate shower room.

Misc.

A storage shed is onsite for the storage of TMCC equipment and tools.

Our fenced property encloses a large parking area for members and their guests.

As for the neighbourhood, we are situated within the bounds of the new Lake Ontario Park, the Martin Goodman Trail (bike path/blading) runs right past the club and Cherry beach is 1 km to the west.

Supplies

To the east, there is Loblaws Superstores and a Price Chopper at Lakeshore and Leslie and a Beer Store on Queen just east of Leslie. To the west, there is a Beer Store and Liquor Store (LCBO) on Queen’s Quay East as well as another Loblaws.

Downtown Toronto & all its trappings is only minutes away by bike, car or cab.
